Rome total war 2 factions tier list4/9/2024 Some factions are split into a number of playable families, which bring further unique benefits to their base faction traits. Each will have its own dilemmas to face and different styles of army to manage. Each brings unique commercial, military and political strengths, its own agents and political system, and three tech trees representing civic, military and engineering disciplines. The playable factions represent key powers within the Greco-Roman, Barbarian, and Eastern cultures, and each offers a notably different and deeper form of gameplay experience from those in previous Total War games. This page is your source for background information about each of the playable factions: their starting position on the campaign map, their civic and military focus, and some of their key battlefield units. Being squeezed between Rome and Carthage makes their start stressful and dangerous, especially considering their early roster lacks any punching power to counter hastati/principes/scutari.Ranging from the Spanish coast to the far-flung, exotic kingdoms of the east, the campaign map for Total War: Rome II is breathtaking in scope, and a study in detail and variety. Plus throwing the ver sacrum armies at enemies is fun.Ħ) Syracuse. Gotta show the uppity Romans who is boss. Palmyra gives you a cool middle ground between Roman and Eastern army compositions that makes for a weird variety to go conquering with.ĥ) Samnites. Empire Divided is a such a weird campaign, but so much fun. Or get caught in a war with Rome and Syracuse that seems to last forever.Ĥ) Palmyra. I consolidated all their African holdings and they got Corsica and Sardinia, so they actually have a chance to decide on a direction to expand. Since they were partially Hellenized I gave them some hoplites to help with their staying power and it makes them a strange hammer and anvil combo to play with.ģ) Carthage. Similar start to Epirus, but with different challenges. Painfully difficult starting position, but if you can take out a minimum of seven rival major factions (Sparta, Athens, Macedon, Ardiaei, Rome, Tylis, and Odrysia) you have a cool set of bonuses to work with and a central Mediterranean kingdom to plan around.Ģ) Odrysia. My game has been personally modded to all hell, but with the tweaks I’ve made:ġ) Epirus. Think we missed one? Give us a Modmail and suggest new Subreddits to add to the lists!
